On December 5 and 6, 2018, the National Erasmus + Office in Kyrgyzstan organized a seminar on “Particularities of PhD accreditation”.
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize with the European requirements for the development, implementation and accreditation of PhD programs.
A visiting EU expert, Professor of Cell Physiology at the University of Cardiff, Kenneth Vann was the main speaker of the seminar.
A welcome speeches were made by Ms. Gulnara Chokusheva, National Coordinator of the Erasmus + Program in Kyrgyzstan and Ms. Jyldyz Omurzakova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the IUK.
On the first day, the EU expert made a report on the European requirements for development and implementation, and the criteria and standards for accreditation of the PhD program.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Larisa Marchenko made a presentation on the State policy in the implementation of PhD programs (introduction of the third level of education).
During the second day of the seminar, the Universities of the Kyrgyz Republic involving in implementing of pilot PhD programs shared with their experience.
The seminar was attended by leading experts in the field of accreditation of universities and the introduction of a system for ensuring quality control of education from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Independent Accreditation Agencies and representatives of universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the end of the seminar, participants were awarded certificates.
