On 12–13 June 2025, a representative of the National Erasmus+ Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with a Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE) from Kyrgyzstan, participated in a two-day seminar on the development of inclusive higher education. The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan and the HERE expert team, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and funding from the European Union. The seminar was held at Astana IT University.
As a HERE expert on higher education reforms representing Kyrgyzstan, President of Salymbekov University presented the experience of Salymbekov University in developing inclusive practices. The seminar brought together representatives from over 30 universities in Kazakhstan, international experts from the EU (Croatia), and officials from relevant ministries and agencies.
The seminar proved to be highly informative and valuable. Participants discussed in detail:

European countries’ experiences regarding the social dimension in higher education;

EU inclusive policies, their principles, tools, and assessment indicators;

Approaches to Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL);

Practices of community engagement;

Student wellbeing and support;

Mechanisms for implementing inclusion at institutional and national levels.
The seminar provided an excellent platform for professional exchange and the strengthening of cooperation in the field of inclusive higher education.
