On November 20-21, 2018 at the basis of the Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute was held a regional seminar “Integration of Science, Education and Professional Practice (on the example of foreign higher educational institutions)”

The seminar was organized by the National Erasmus + Office of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize with the experience and raising awareness of best practices and lessons learnt in EU countries on basic approaches in the development, integration of science and education in Professional Practice.

A welcoming speech was made by the Rector of BETI, who noted the importance of education as a tool for the development of society. Then the representative of NEO Uzbekistan, Mr. Kudrathon Bahadirov introduced the objectives of the seminar and briefly presented the components of the Erasmus + program.

The main speaker of the event was a guest expert from the EU, Professor of the Polytechnic University of Turin, Flavio Canavero.

The EU expert reviewed the main problems of interaction between students and teaching staff of universities, the pros and cons of different approaches in education and strategies for developing new curricula reflecting the needs of labor market.

Prof. Flavio Canavero presented experience of his University in building a bridge and partnership between science and industry.

Representatives of universities of Uzbekistan shared their innovative methods of teaching and learning. Mr. Marat Rakhmatullaev, head of the national team of experts on the reform of higher education in Uzbekistan, made a report on the prospects for the integration of science, education and production in Uzbekistan.

A report on research and teaching methods in Kyrgyzstan was presented by a member of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform Ms. Nurgul Daminova.

The report on experiences of introducing research projects in universities was presented by a member of the national team of experts on higher education reform, Mr. Ermek Baybagyshev.
