Today, Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU) is proudly ranked among the top three universities in the Kyrgyz Republic. This achievement is the result of continuous institutional development, strong academic leadership, and decades of successful international cooperation.
A significant contribution to this progress has been the University’s long-standing partnership with the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme. Over the years, KSTU has actively participated in numerous Erasmus+ Capacity Building projects, including INOCAST, KyrMEDU, DERECKA, DEFA (as project coordinator), GreenKG, and D-TIDE-KG, each of which has played a vital role in strengthening the University’s academic and institutional capacity.
Through these initiatives, KSTU has modernised curricula in line with European standards, introduced innovative teaching and learning methodologies, established state-of-the-art laboratories and learning facilities, strengthened digital and green competencies, enhanced quality assurance mechanisms, and expanded opportunities for international mobility and research collaboration.
Beyond the immediate project outcomes, Erasmus+ has generated a lasting institutional impact. The knowledge, practices, and infrastructure developed through these projects have become an integral part of the University’s long-term development strategy. Academic staff continue to apply innovative pedagogical approaches, students benefit from a more modern and internationally oriented education.
The Erasmus+ Programme has not only transformed individual projects but has also contributed to a sustainable culture of innovation, internationalisation, and continuous improvement – creating long-term value for the University, its academic community, and future generations of engineers, researchers, and professionals.
