On 27 April 2026, a consultation meeting dedicated to the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) component was held at the National Erasmus+ Office in the Kyrgyz Republic with representatives of the Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute under Kyrgyz State Technical University.

The meeting was organized within the framework of the National Erasmus+ Office’s ongoing consultative support aimed at assisting higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan in the development of competitive Erasmus+ project proposals, strengthening institutional participation in European cooperation initiatives, and enhancing understanding of current programme priorities and application requirements.

During the consultation, the participants discussed in detail the specific features of the Erasmus+ CBHE component, including the objectives of the action, eligibility criteria, consortium-building principles, partnership requirements, budgetary considerations, expected impact, and the practical aspects of project proposal preparation under the current Erasmus+ programme framework. Special attention was paid to the importance of aligning project ideas with the priorities of modernization, digital transformation, sustainable development, labour market relevance, and internationalisation of higher education institutions.

Representatives of the Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute demonstrated strong interest in expanding their involvement in Erasmus+ funded institutional development initiatives and presented a number of preliminary project concepts reflecting the institute’s strategic academic and technological priorities.

During the meeting, the institute’s representatives shared their vision for future Erasmus+ cooperation and outlined several prospective thematic areas in which they see strong institutional potential for Capacity Building projects.

The National Erasmus+ Office provided detailed methodological guidance on how such institutional ideas can be transformed into structured Erasmus+ CBHE project concepts with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, sustainable dissemination plans, and strong European partnership dimensions. Recommendations were also given on the formulation of problem statements, needs analysis, target group identification, and the development of a logical intervention framework in accordance with Erasmus+ application standards.

The discussion also highlighted the growing participation of Kyrgyz State Technical University and its affiliated institutes in Erasmus+ cooperation. KSTU remains one of the most active technical universities in Kyrgyzstan involved in Erasmus+ projects, including current Capacity Building initiatives in the fields of financial autonomy, green and digital transformation, and innovative technological education.

The consultation concluded with an exchange of practical recommendations regarding next steps in project concept development, partner identification, and internal institutional coordination for future Erasmus+ CBHE applications. Such advisory meetings continue to play an important role in supporting Kyrgyz higher education institutions in translating innovative institutional ambitions into sustainable international cooperation projects under Erasmus+.
