On April 23, 2026, the National Erasmus+ Office in the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the DiscoTech Forum (Discover Technology) and Education, Career and Technology Exhibition held at Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov in Bishkek.
The event, organized under the theme “Girls in ICT: Girls – Leaders of the Digital Future”, brought together representatives of government institutions, international organizations, academia, and the private sector to promote digital skills, education, and leadership opportunities for young women.
As part of the program, the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic actively participated in the forum and delivered a presentation highlighting the opportunities provided by Erasmus+ for students and young professionals.
In her presentation, the Coordinator focused on:
- opportunities for studying abroad and academic mobility,
- participation in international educational projects,
- and the role of Erasmus+ in supporting skills development and career growth for young people in Kyrgyzstan.
Special emphasis was placed on how Erasmus+ contributes to empowering young women through access to quality education, international experience, and professional development pathways.
The presentation also addressed practical aspects of participation in the programme, including application procedures, eligibility criteria, and available scholarship opportunities. Particular attention was given to encouraging female students to take advantage of Erasmus+ initiatives and become active participants in global academic and professional communities.
Importantly, the presentation also featured success stories of female Erasmus Mundus graduates, showcasing real examples of young women from Kyrgyzstan who benefited from the programme, pursued international education, and successfully built their academic and professional careers. These stories served as an inspiring element of the session, demonstrating the tangible impact of Erasmus+ opportunities.
The session generated strong interest among participants, who engaged actively by asking questions related to application processes, study opportunities abroad, and ways to become involved in Erasmus+ projects.
The forum program included:
- an official opening with participation of high-level representatives,
- thematic sessions dedicated to women in ICT, leadership, and digital transformation,
- practical master classes on cybersecurity, self-protection, and health,
- and discussions on education and career opportunities.
The event also featured networking opportunities, exhibitions of technological achievements, and interactive sessions aimed at inspiring young women to pursue careers in digital and technological fields.
The participation of the National Erasmus+Office in this forum reflects the programme’s broader priorities of inclusion, gender equality, and digital transformation. By engaging in such events, Erasmus+ continues to support initiatives that empower young people, especially women, to develop skills in the modern digital world and actively participate in the international educational space.
The forum provided an important platform for dialogue, inspiration, and knowledge exchange. The involvement of the National Erasmus+ Office contributed to raising awareness about international education opportunities and strengthening the visibility of the programme among youth in Kyrgyzstan.
Through such activities, Erasmus+ continues to promote equal access to education, support innovation, and encourage the next generation of leaders in the digital era.
