On April 22, 2026, a working meeting was held at the International University of Kyrgyzstan between the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic and the university’s administrative leadership.
The meeting brought together the Rector and members of the administrative staff to discuss the prospects for expanding the university’s participation in the Erasmus+ Programme and strengthening international cooperation.
During the meeting, the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic presented an overview of current opportunities available within the Erasmus+ Programme, highlighting key actions relevant for higher education institutions. Particular attention was given to:
- academic mobility opportunities for students and staff,
- and the Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) component.
The discussion emphasized how engagement in Erasmus+ projects can support institutional development, modernization of academic programs, and integration into the European Higher Education Area.
The Rector of the International University of Kyrgyzstan expressed strong interest in expanding the university’s involvement in Erasmus+ initiatives. Both sides discussed practical steps to enhance participation.
In addition, the meeting addressed the importance of aligning university strategies with current Erasmus+ priorities such as digital transformation and green development.
Participants also discussed organizational and practical aspects related to project participation, including proposal preparation, consortium building, and administrative support mechanisms within the university. Special attention was given to the need for internal coordination and the involvement of both academic and administrative staff in project activities to ensure successful implementation.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding of the importance of continued cooperation and active participation in the Erasmus+ Programme. Both sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen collaboration and explore new opportunities for joint initiatives.
This working meeting marked another important step in supporting the integration of Kyrgyz universities into international educational processes and promoting sustainable development through Erasmus+ projects.
