Erasmus+ ChatBot

On 2–3 June 2026, the final conference of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project “Green and Digital Universities for Sustainable Development of Kyrgyzstan” (GREENKG) was held at the Kyrgyz State Technical University in Bishkek. 

The conference brought together representatives of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan, higher education institutions, international partners, experts, and stakeholders involved in promoting sustainable development and digital transformation in higher education.

Opening the event, the representative of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan highlighted the importance of the Erasmus+ programme in supporting the modernization of higher education and fostering cooperation between Kyrgyz and European universities. She emphasized that the GREENKG project serves as a strong example of how Erasmus+ contributes to institutional development, the introduction of innovative practices, and the advancement of sustainability and digitalization agendas in Kyrgyz higher education.

Throughout the two-day conference, participants reviewed the achievements and outcomes of the GREENKG project, which has supported partner universities in integrating green and digital principles into their institutional strategies, educational processes, and campus management systems. Discussions focused on environmental sustainability, digital transformation, quality assurance, project management, dissemination activities, and the long-term sustainability of project results.

Representatives of partner universities and European institutions presented the results of various project work packages, highlighting progress in the development of the Green and Digital University model, implementation of innovative educational approaches, networking activities, and capacity-building initiatives. Special attention was given to practical solutions for environmental management, sustainable procurement, green skills development, cybersecurity awareness, and the digitalization of university services.

The conference also showcased student-led initiatives and digital applications developed within the framework of the project, demonstrating the active involvement of students in advancing sustainability and innovation at their institutions.

The GREENKG project has brought together universities and organizations from Kyrgyzstan, Germany, and Lithuania to promote sustainable development and digital transformation in higher education. Through collaborative efforts, the project has strengthened institutional capacities, enhanced international cooperation, and contributed to the development of more resilient, environmentally responsible, and digitally advanced universities in Kyrgyzstan.

The final conference provided an opportunity to reflect on the project’s achievements, exchange experiences among partners, and discuss future steps for ensuring the sustainability and further development of the project’s results beyond its official completion.
