Today, on December 5, 2025, the Erasmus+ Information Day was successfully held in Bishkek. The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan.
The event brought together more than 80 participants from 15 higher education institutions across the country, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic and representatives of four different organizations. At the same time, 96% of the participants were members of the academic staff.
The event opened with a welcoming address by the Head of the Department of Licensing and Accreditation of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic, followed by an introductory presentation on “What is Erasmus+?” and “Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE): Priorities and Impact” delivered by the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in Kyrgyzstan.
Within the programme, opportunities for international cooperation with higher education institutions from different countries were also presented. The Director of DAAD Central Asia introduced cooperation with universities in Germany. Opportunities for academic cooperation with France were presented by the Head of Campus France in Kyrgyzstan.
Special attention was given to International Credit Mobility (ICM), the opportunities for Kyrgyz universities to participate, as well as to the Jean Monnet component aimed at promoting the study of the European Union within higher education.
Practical experience in implementing Erasmus+ projects was shared by representatives of national universities. In particular, the experience of implementing the CBHE DEFA project was presented by the Rector of the Kyrgyz State Technical University. The Coordinator of International Programmes of Ala-Too International University also shared her experience in implementing International Credit Mobility (ICM).
The event concluded with a Q&A session. Participants highlighted the high practical value of the meeting and expressed strong interest in further participation in Erasmus+ programmes.
