The National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan organized two day seminar on Analysis of national qualification system in Kyrgyzstan on June 19-20, 2018. The event was attended by approximately 50 representatives of Kyrgyz HEIs. The aim of the event was to obtain detailed information on approaches to formulation descriptors of a national framework of qualifications for all levels and specify approaches to designing of a branch framework of qualifications and formation of occupational standards. Work on creation and development of national qualification system is initiated now in the Kyrgyz Republic. Some elements of national qualification system were developed and approved: draft of National Qualification Framework, sectoral researches and drafts of occupational standards. Nowadays, Concept of development of National qualification system, which will allow uniting all elements on uniform methodological basis, is developed. However, there are some difficulties concerning system approach to a formulation of descriptors for various levels, formation of a sectoral/industrial qualification framework and occupational standards. The seminar was opened with a welcoming speech by Mr. Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. He highlighted the timeliness of the seminar in connection with the consideration of proposals on the development of a national qualifications system in the Parliament. The seminar was conducted by a visiting EU expert, Dr. Preslav Dimitrov, Associate Professor at the Neofit Rilski South-West University, a member of the Bulgarian national team of ECVET experts. The seminar was attended by representatives of universities of Kyrgyzstan.
