On 16th and 17th of March on the basis of the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transportation and Architecture took place kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project  “Advancing University Education in Biomedical Engineering and Health Management in Kyrgyzstan” – (KyrMedu).
Aim of the project:
-Improve the quality and strengthen the role of Kyrgyzstan’s HEIs in society at large by establishing healthcare-related study programmes (healthcare informatics/economics and biomedical engineering) in order to target needs of lab our market and public services, empower medical doctors and technical staff to make efficient use of existing healthcare equipment as well as needs of university teaching staff.
-Empower HEIs in KG to contribute to the development of lifelong learning by establishing IT infrastructure at HEIs and training in technology enhanced learning;
– Develop further qualifications according to the Qualification Framework (QF) for lifelong learning (LLL) in KG;
– Develop and deliver pilot courses in healthcare informatics and biomedical engineering;
– Improve cooperation among KG universities, industry and labor market by establishing study programmes (incl. practical training periods) focused towards the needs of the Kyrgyz labor market and public healthcare sector.

Welcome speech was made by Ms. Gulnara Chokusheva, the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan The project coordinator, Prof. Frank Grimm made paresentation about the project. Dr. Almut Weitze provided clarification on the financial part of the project and the partnership agreement.
The meeting were attanded by representatives from Kyrgyz HEIs, partners HEIs and DAAD programme representative.
