Today, a kick-off meeting within the Erasmus+ CBHE project “Strengthening Higher Education in Water Management and Water Diplomacy in Central Asia” has been started in Bishkek. In the framework of the project 5 higher education institutions (HEIs) from the EU and 11 HEIs from Central Asia will cooperate to increase the relevance, quality and responsiveness of MA/MSc curricula on water governance and water diplomacy offered by the latter. Teaching staff of Central Asian universities will receive training in the new curricula. The new programmes, inspired by European best practices and adapted to regional conditions and requirements will help train a new generation of experts, prepared to tackle the challenges faced by the water sector.

The meeting was attended by partners (HEIs) from Central Asian countries and the European Union. The meeting was an excellent opportunity for sharing experiences and knowledge and for communication between the partner countries.

The event was held at the Dikambaev Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
