On October 13, 2025, a working meeting took place between Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE), the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in Kyrgyzstan, and the Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation.

During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of the experts’ work plan, as well as the reform of teacher education in the context of the country’s transition to a 12-year school system. Special attention was given to ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at strengthening higher education reforms, fostering academic mobility, and improving the quality of educational programmes.

The parties emphasized the importance of active participation of Kyrgyz universities in international programmes such as Erasmus+, which promote the exchange of best European practices, academic collaboration, and the modernization of educational approaches.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and highlighted the importance of joint efforts to support sustainable change and further integrate Kyrgyzstan’s higher education system into the European Higher Education Area.
