On October 28-29, 2021, the National Erasmus + Office in Kyrgyzstan organized a seminar on the topic “Inclusive internationalization of universities in the Kyrgyz Republic” for the teaching staff of universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The speaker of the training was an invited EU expert, Martin Bogdan – Mr. Martin Bogdan, Policy and Project Officer and the co-chair of ACA’s Thematic Peer Groups “Widening inclusion in international higher education”

The purpose of the event is to discuss the main factors and identify trends in the field of higher education that affect the policy of internationalization and mobility in the Higher Educational Institutions of Kyrgyzstan, to familiarize participants with various types of inclusive internationalization;

The welcoming speech was delivered by Mr. Nurlan Omurov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. In his speech, he briefly spoke about the measures taken by the Ministry of Education towards inclusive internationalization.

During the two-day seminar, Martin Bogdan familiarized participants with various internationalization types beyond mobilities, with the mechanisms of inclusive internationalization from international practices, and with different mechanisms for involving university administration, teachers, and students as well as non-academic actors to increase inclusion.

The event was held in a blended format: online and offline.
