On November 18-19, 2022 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the National Erasmus Office + hold a seminar to discuss the regulatory and legal framework for the reform of the status HEIs of the Kyrgyz Republic, which received a special status in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The purpose of the seminar is to develop a road map for the implementation of the above-mentioned decree. The seminar is attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Abazbek uulu Rasul and the heads of the Departments of the Ministry of Education and Science, Rectors and Vice-Rectors of high status universities, and experts in the reform of higher education of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a reminder, the Decree grants a special status that provides for granting broad organizational, financial and academic autonomy to the following public institutions of higher education of the Kyrgyz Republic:
* Kyrgyz National University named after Zhusup Balasagyn;
* Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Iskhak Razakov;
* Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after Konstantin Skryabin;
* Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after Isa Akhunbaev;
* Osh State University.
But there remain a number of problems and challenges that need to be finalized.
