On 27 June 2025, the National Erasmus+ Office in the Kyrgyz Republic held an online seminar dedicated to the concept of the “Green University” and the role of the GreenKG project in promoting sustainable development in higher education.

The seminar, titled “Green University: Sustainable Development Starts from the Campus. The Impact of the GreenKG Project on the University”, brought together university representatives, academic staff, administrative personnel, students, and all those interested in sustainability in higher education. The event was conducted online via Zoom.

The session focused on the introduction of environmentally sustainable practices within higher education institutions. Participants were presented with the experience of implementing the Erasmus+ CBHE GreenKG project, including the development of environmentally oriented university infrastructure, the integration of sustainable development principles into the educational process, and the promotion of an environmental culture within the university community.

The keynote speaker was Rector of Issyk-Kul State University, who shared practical insights into the implementation of “green” solutions in university life and discussed approaches to integrating sustainable development into the daily activities of higher education institutions.

The seminar provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and discussing practical steps toward building more sustainable and environmentally responsible universities in Kyrgyzstan.
