On 10 July 2024, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted a high-level roundtable titled “Central Asia’s Readiness for Climate Change: Science and Policy” as part of the Jean Monnet Module project “European Climate Policy”, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme.
The event gathered representatives from the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, international and non-governmental organizations, and leading academic institutions to discuss the development of scientific capacity and policy responses to climate change in Central Asia. Participants explored national policy strategies, ongoing scientific research, and regional collaboration priorities.
The roundtable aimed to identify critical research areas to inform policymaking, strengthen regional cooperation, and enhance the integration of climate change science into national strategies.
The event was organized by the OSCE Academy within the framework of the Jean Monnet project and supported with information outreach by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan.
