On October 30, 2025, within the framework of the Higher Education Reform Support Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic, an online seminar was held dedicated to the internationalization of higher education and the strengthening of international cooperation among universities.
The seminar was conducted by the President of Salymbekov University, an expert on higher education reform and a participant in international projects in the field of university internationalization and academic mobility.
Two key topics were addressed during the event:
🔹Strategies for the Internationalization of Universities and the Development of International Partnerships
Participants discussed how to build sustainable international partnerships, expand academic cooperation, and effectively integrate Kyrgyz universities into the global educational space. The session presented successful cases of international collaboration and practical tools for supporting joint projects.
🔹 Internationalization of the Curriculum
Special attention was given to incorporating international and intercultural components into educational programmes. The speaker emphasized that internationalization should extend beyond academic mobility and encompass the content of the learning process itself, fostering global thinking and intercultural competence among students.
The seminar generated strong interest among participants — university leaders, international relations specialists, and faculty members. During discussions, they exchanged experiences on integrating elements of internationalization into curricula and explored prospects for further development of international cooperation in Kyrgyzstan’s higher education system.
📘 The event became another important step toward strengthening the capacity of universities and promoting a strategic approach to internationalization as a key direction of higher education reform.
