The National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan organized a National Workshop on National Qualifications Framework Development at the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn on 17 November 2015.
Mr. Dogdurbek Chontoev – Head of the Professional Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (ME&S KR) opened the event and informed that the documents on introduction of the NQF are brought up for the discussion for further adoption at the MES KR.
A package of documents on the NQF introduction was developed in the frames of the Tempus project – QUARIGA which was coordinated by the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Razzakov. The staff of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Agency for VET, Ministry of Economy of the KR, National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reforming, representatives of the central and regional HEIs attended the national workshop.
The EU expert – Mr. Frank McMahon was a main speaker at the workshop. Besides, Mr. Bekzhan Torobekov – Vice rector of KSTU, member of the National Team of Experts of HE reforming made a speech on the topic “Concept of the NQF of Kyrgyzstan developed under the Tempus project”. Ms. Burul Tashtobaeva – Scientific Secretary of KSTU presented a draft NQF of KR.
There were discussed possible changes in the NQF and recommendation on improvement at the workshop. The recommendations on improvement will be sent to the appropriate authorities and bodies.
