On August 1, 2025, a meeting was held at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic, and a team of higher education reform experts (HEREs). The discussion addressed key issues related to the KPI system for the development of higher education institutions, as well as the development of a strategy in the field of higher education reform in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Participants paid special attention to analyzing the current state of the higher education system in Kyrgyzstan, identifying existing challenges, and exploring effective mechanisms for addressing them. In particular, they discussed possible approaches to developing and implementing a higher education reform strategy aimed at improving the quality of education, ensuring transparency and accountability of universities, and enhancing their competitiveness at the international level.
During the dialogue, representatives of the Ministry and HEREs exchanged views on practical steps to optimize management processes, introduce modern performance assessment tools, and stimulate innovation in the education sector. The discussion also covered cooperation between government bodies, universities, and international partners in implementing reforms focused on the sustainable development of higher education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
