On 28 February 2025, our office visited Kyrgyz National University (KNU), where a significant meeting took place with a French delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Kyrgyz Republic.
The delegation also included:
• Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan
• Education Attaché of the French Embassy in Kazakhstan, responsible for Kyrgyzstan
• The Rector of Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
• A representative from the University of Poitiers
The event began with a ceremonial opening of the French language office, marked by a symbolic red ribbon cutting.
During the meeting, prospects for strengthening cooperation between French universities and KNU were discussed, as well as ways to increase interest in learning the French language. Special attention was given to opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme.
The National Erasmus+ Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan,shared statistics on KNU’s collaboration with French universities and presented available opportunities within the programme. She also invited all participants to an upcoming event, details of which will be announced soon 🤫.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and productive dialogue. The French delegation also visited other universities in Kyrgyzstan to discuss potential areas of cooperation.
We are confident that these initiatives will yield fruitful results and strengthen the ties between our countries 🇰🇬🤝🇫🇷.
