On 13th of November, 2018 a scientific and practical conference “Developing skills for a changing world: regional and national qualification systems in the focus of change” was held at the conference-hall of the
Hyatt Regency Hotel, Bishkek.
The event was organized by the Adam University, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and within the Erasmus+ Project “Development of Bachelor and Master Programs on Sustainable Tourism in Open Education in China, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan (LMPT)”.
The purposes of the conference were:
– analysis of the best European practices for the development of new skills of young people in order to create a sustainable and inclusive society;
– recognition of qualifications and academic and labor mobility, recognition of qualifications and migration processes;
– expanding access to lifelong education: the practice of recognizing formal, non-formal and informal education;
– career of young people: social personal and professional competencies.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Agency for Promotion and Protection of Investments under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, skills development, employers ’associations, higher education institutions, primary and secondary vocational schools, experts from the European Union, the International Labor Organization, International Cooperation, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, etc.
The conference consisted of 3 sessions and each session was interesting, relevant and creative.
Presentations were made by L. Marchenko, Advisor to the MES KR, A. Sharsheeva, Project Manager of the “Digital Casa Kyrgyz Republic”, E. Sakkaraeva, Project Manager “Open Data in Education and Health Care”, M. Bashirova, Coordinator on the basis of competences, Department for the Implementation of the Program “Skills for Inclusive Growth” (ADB); N. Akylbekova, Head of Management and Tourism Program, Adam University, ERASMUS + Project Expert “Development of Bachelor and Master Programs in Sustainable Tourism in Open Education in China, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan (LMPT) “.
Within the framework of the conference, after each session, there was a lively exchange of views during panel discussions on the development of sectoral qualifications frameworks, the development of digital skills, and sectoral research in the field of tourism, in the NPO system.
