Latvian State Scholarships for Studies and Summer Schools 2026

We are pleased to offer scholarships for students and academic staff of higher education institutions for studies in Latvian universities during the academic year 2026/2027 as well as for participation in summer schools organized by Latvian universities.

 The call for applications for the Latvian state study scholarship for the academic year 2026/2027 will be open from 1 February 2026 until 1 April 2026. All relevant information is available on the websites of the State Education Development Agency https://www.viaa.gov.lv/en/latvian-state-scholarships and Study in Latvia https://studyinlatvia.lv/scholarships. The application form and the required documents for the study scholarship for the academic year 2026/2027 must be submitted to the State Education Development Agency via an online application system, which will be open on 1 February 2026. The application deadline for the Latvian state study scholarship is 1 April 2026.

 The call for applications for the Latvian state summer school scholarship for summer 2026 will be open on 1 February 2026. Information on summer schools, where international students and academic staff can participate with the Latvian state scholarship, is available on the websites of the State Education Development Agency  https://www.viaa.gov.lv/en/summer-schools and Study in Latvia https://studyinlatvia.lv/scholarships#summer-schools-banner. Applications and required documents for the summer schools shall be sent directly to the organizers of the summer schools – the Latvian universities – whose representatives will inform applicants about the results of the scholarship competition. The application deadline for the Latvian state scholarship for summer schools is 1 April 2026.
