On November 3, 2025, Osh State University hosted an International Scientific Conference within the framework of the Erasmus+ BERNICA Project (Building Educational and Research Capacities in Nutrition and Dietetics in Central Asia). The event brought together academic staff, researchers, and project partners from universities across Central Asia and the European Union to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation in the field of nutrition and dietetics education.
The National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic, opened the conference with a welcoming speech, highlighting the vital role of nutrition science in improving the quality of medical education and promoting public health in the region. She emphasized that the development of educational and research capacities in nutrition is crucial for addressing contemporary health challenges in Central Asia.
During the conference, participants presented plenary reports and research findings, discussed modern pedagogical approaches, and explored ways to integrate nutrition and dietetics into higher medical education. The discussions continued in thematic sessions dedicated to “Integration of Nutrition Science into Medical Education in Central Asia,” where speakers shared innovative teaching practices, curriculum models, and interdisciplinary research experiences.
The event served as an important platform for experience exchange, networking, and building academic partnerships between Central Asian and European universities participating in the Erasmus+ BERNICA project. It reaffirmed the project’s contribution to strengthening regional collaboration and fostering sustainable development in medical education and research.
