On December 5, 2019, the Information Day of the Erasmus + program for students and staff of the Kyrgyz National University was held with the participation of Ambassador Eduard Auer, Head of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan. The event was organized by the National Erasmus + Office in Kyrgyzstan.
At the beginning of the event, Ambassador Eduard Auer, Head of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan met with Mr. Kanat Sadykov, Rector of the Kyrgyz National University. The rector of KNU noted that thanks to the Erasmus + projects, the university annually sends more than 200 students to short-term study in European Partner Universities. This year, besides Kyrgyz-European Faculty, the project on academic mobility with the University of Poitiers (France) won the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
The participants of the Information Day were welcomed by the Ambassador Eduard Auer, Head of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan. In his speech, he noted the increasing the number of Erasmus + participants. This is due to the fact that the Erasmus + program provides to students the best academic knowledge, an attractive financing package and a unique mobility experience, as well as the development of intercultural relations.
A detailed presentation on the opportunities of the Erasmus+ Programme for students was presented by Ms. Gulnara Chokusheva, National Coordinator of the Erasmus + Program. Due to the fact that most participants were interested in obtaining a master’s degree, special attention was paid to the component “Joint Master’s Degrees”. The National Coordinator highlighted that EM Joint Master Degree is an ideal opportunity for students to explore world, to obtain top academic knowlendge. All Erasmus + master’s courses are innovative, interdisciplinary courses with the possibility of obtaining a multiple recognized degree, are developed by a consortium of international universities from Program countries and selected by the European Commission.
Mr. Izat Berenaliev, Dean of KEF and Ms. Diana Sultanbekova, Head of the International Department of KNU, answered to students’ questions regarding the selection procedures for projects on academic mobility.
