The Information Day of the Erasmus+ Programme was organized by National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan on 14th of November 2017. This main event took place at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.Akhunbaev.
The aim of the this event was providing information on the Erasmus+ key actions with a focus on requirements, novelties of the call of proposals for 2018, which was launched in October.
Detailed presentations were made on each of the four Erasmus+ components, on academic exchange opportunities between the students and HEI staff members (International Credit Mobility component), Joint Masters’ Degree programmes and Jean Monnet, national and regional priorities. The results of the call 2017 were presented. In 2017 11 students from Kyrgyzstan received a full scholarship support for study at Masters’ Degree programmes at the European HEIs. At the moment 11 projects on the Capacity Building in Higher Education are under implementation in Kyrgyzstan.
A special attention was paid to the 30th Anniversary of the Erasmus+ Programme and achievements of the activities of the programme in Kyrgyzstan since 1994. 399 HEI staff members and students at different levels had opportunity to develop their professional level and to study at the Universities of the European Union and Turkey between 2015 and 2017.
The Information Day was attended by over 160 representatives of HEIs from Bishkek and regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan and Ministry of Education and Science of KR, representatives of the Embassies and other organizations.
Charge d’Affaires of the European Union in Kyrgyzstan Mr. Jaap Ora received a letter of gratitude from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic for the successful cooperation and support of the EU in the field of higher education.
