On 20 May 2024, over 80 key actors from across the education ecosystem gathered for the National Higher Education Sector Review 2024 in Bishkek. The event aimed to assess progress, address persistent challenges, and align future higher education reforms with national priorities and international frameworks.

The forum featured expert presentations, interactive panels, and data-driven discussions focused on governance, quality assurance, financing, equity, and the impact of international cooperation—particularly through Erasmus+.

Participants included senior officials from the Ministry of Education and Science, the EU Delegation, university leaders, reform experts, civil society, and Erasmus+ alumni. A key outcome was the joint development of actionable policy recommendations aligned with SDG targets and the Bologna Process.

A post-event policy paper will be prepared to guide the next phase of strategic planning and enhance coordination across government, academia, and development partners.
