Erasmus+ ChatBot

An online working meeting between the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic and a group of national higher education reform experts (HERE) was held on 14 January 2026. The meeting marked the first working meeting of the expert group in 2026 and served as an important starting point for coordinated activities planned for the year ahead.

The meeting was organised by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan and brought together group of national higher education reform experts. The discussion aimed to ensure alignment between national higher education reform priorities and the opportunities offered through Erasmus+ actions.

During the meeting, participants focused on planning and coordination of activities for 2026. In particular, they discussed the preliminary calendar of events, including expert consultations, thematic seminars, workshops, analytical activities, and policy-oriented discussions addressing key challenges in the higher education sector. Special attention was paid to identifying priority reform areas where expert support and Erasmus+ instruments could provide added value.

The National Erasmus+ Coordinator emphasised the importance of regular dialogue and structured cooperation with national experts to support evidence-based reforms in higher education. In her remarks, she highlighted Erasmus+ as a strategic tool for fostering institutional development, digital transformation, inclusiveness, and alignment with European higher education standards, noting that expert input plays a crucial role in adapting European experience to the national context.

Experts shared their views on pressing reform needs, emerging trends, and potential thematic focuses for 2026, including governance and autonomy of higher education institutions, quality assurance, doctoral education, digitalisation, and capacity building of academic and administrative staff. The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned from previous years and to identify areas for improvement in planning and implementation.

The discussion resulted in a shared understanding of priorities for the upcoming year and outlined next steps for further collaboration.

The meeting confirmed the commitment of the National Erasmus+ Office to strengthening cooperation with national experts and ensuring that Erasmus+ continues to effectively support higher education reform processes at both institutional and system levels.
