On 29 May 2025, a seminar titled “Modern digital technologies in university management. Financial autonomy in Kyrgyzstan’s higher education institutions” was held at Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The event brought together more than 30 participants, including representatives of various higher education institutions, university administrators, and academic staff from across Kyrgyzstan.

The key speaker of the seminar was the Rector of the Kyrgyz State Technical University and Teamleader of Higher Education Reform Experts, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on current trends and strategic priorities in higher education management. In his address, she emphasized the critical role of digital transformation and financial autonomy as essential components of effective, transparent, and sustainable university governance.

The seminar focused on:

  • the introduction of digital tools in academic and administrative processes;

  • improving the efficiency of university management through data-driven decision-making;

  • pathways toward financial autonomy and diversification of funding sources;

  • institutional flexibility as a response to rapidly changing educational and labor market demands.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, shared practical experiences from their own institutions, and examined common challenges faced by universities in the context of modernization and reform. Special attention was given to best practices in higher education, as well as to the opportunities digitalization offers for improving quality assurance, accessibility, and competitiveness of universities.

The seminar served as an important platform for professional dialogue, contributing to the modernization of the higher education system in Kyrgyzstan and strengthening cooperation among universities. It also reinforced the shared understanding that digitalization and autonomy are key drivers for the long-term development and resilience of higher education institutions in the country.
