Final International Conference on Nutrition and Dietetics Held in Bishkek as Part of Erasmus+ BERNICA Project.

On 7–8 November 2025, the Technopark in Bishkek hosted the international conference “Transforming Nutrition & Dietetics Education in Central Asia: Achievements and Future
Perspectives”, marking the final phase of the Erasmus+ BERNICA project (Building Educational and Research Capacities in Nutrition & Dietetics in Central Asia).

The BERNICA project focuses on developing education, research, and innovation in nutrition and dietetics across Central Asian countries, strengthening the research and academic capacities of regional universities, introducing new curricula and laboratory technologies, and enhancing the professional development of teaching staff.

Opening remarks were delivered by Rector of the International Higher School of Medicine; Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic; a representative of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic; Erasmus+ EU Programme Coordinator; National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in Kyrgyzstan; and BERNICA Project Coordinator.

In her speech, National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in Kyrgyzstan highlighted the importance of international collaboration and experience exchange for the sustainable development of educational programs and research, noting that Erasmus+ projects contribute to integrating Kyrgyzstan into the European Higher Education Area.

The conference program included plenary sessions, project presentations, exhibitions, poster sessions, and discussions on the future development of nutrition and dietetics in Central Asia. The event provided a key platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and strengthening academic partnerships between Central Asian and European universities involved in the Erasmus+ BERNICA project.
