On 20 May 2025, Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov hosted an in-depth information session for its academic staff, organized and conducted by the National Erasmus+ Coordinator of the Kyrgyz Republic. The session aimed to inform faculty members about the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ programme, including international mobility, capacity-building projects, and collaborative research initiatives. Participants learned how to develop competitive project proposals, navigate application procedures, and align their projects with European higher education standards.
During the visit, the National Erasmus+ Coordinator of the Kyrgyz Republic met with the university Rector to discuss strategic plans for internationalization, strengthening academic networks, and expanding participation in Erasmus+ projects. The Rector emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing teaching quality, and providing students and faculty with access to international experiences.
Individual consultations were provided to faculty members who are actively preparing project proposals, offering guidance on project design, partnership building, and the selection of relevant Erasmus+ funding opportunities. These consultations allowed participants to receive personalized feedback and practical recommendations for developing impactful international projects.
The day concluded with a tour of the university’s laboratories, research centers, and innovation hubs, where modern equipment and technology, acquired with Erasmus+ support, are being used for teaching, research, and community engagement. Faculty and staff had the opportunity to explore new tools for applied research, collaborative learning, and student training programs.
This visit not only strengthened the university’s understanding of Erasmus+ possibilities but also inspired academic staff to actively engage in international cooperation. It served as a significant step toward enhancing the university’s academic capacity, fostering global partnerships, and promoting innovative and inclusive higher education practices.
