On 19 December 2025, National Erasmus+ office in Kyrgyzstan hosted an Erasmus+ Info Day at Bishkek State University, bringing together academic staff and students eager to learn more about international opportunities within the European Union’s education programme. The event provided a comprehensive overview of Erasmus+ components and served as an important platform for strengthening international cooperation in higher education.
During the session, representatives of the National Erasmus+ office in Kyrgyzstan presented key Erasmus+ opportunities for universities and students. Faculty members received detailed information about Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), International Credit Mobility (ICM), and Jean Monnet activities. Presenters discussed current priorities, eligibility criteria, and practical aspects of developing strong proposals. Special attention was given to how these components support institutional development, curriculum modernisation, and enhanced international partnerships. Real-life success stories and examples from previously funded projects helped illustrate the transformative impact of Erasmus+ on academic and professional growth.
For students, the session focused on Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Programmes. Participants learned about programme structures, scholarship options, application timelines, and tips for preparing strong applications.
The event welcomed 34 academic staff members (8 men and 26 women) and more than 50 students from various faculties. Throughout the meeting, participants actively engaged with speakers, asked questions, and shared their interest in future collaborations. The lively discussion demonstrated a strong and growing demand for internationalisation and mobility among both university staff and students.
The Erasmus+ Info Day at Bishkek State University successfully contributed to raising awareness about EU-funded educational opportunities and inspired attendees to explore new avenues for partnership and capacity building.
