The National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Delegation of the European Union, organized the Annual Review of EU-Funded Education Projects and Best Practice Exchange Forum in Bishkek.

Bringing together over 50 participants from government institutions, universities, EU project teams, NGOs, and development partners, the forum served as a key platform to assess the progress and sustainability of Erasmus+ and other EU-supported initiatives in the Kyrgyz education sector.

The 2023 forum focused on:

  • Evaluating project outcomes and institutional innovations,

  • Showcasing good practices and lessons learned,

  • Encouraging collaboration across higher education institutions, and

  • Identifying priorities for future Erasmus+ programming aligned with national reforms.

Stakeholders praised the role of EU projects in advancing curriculum modernization, academic mobility, digital learning, and university governance. The forum featured reflections from project beneficiaries and alumni, who shared first-hand accounts of how Erasmus+ experiences have shaped their professional growth and institutional transformation.

As a result of the event, strategic recommendations were formulated to guide future EU cooperation in education and ensure stronger integration of project outcomes into national policy frameworks. A post-event report will be disseminated to all partners to support continued dialogue and joint action.

The forum reaffirmed the shared commitment of national and international stakeholders to strengthen the quality, equity, and internationalization of higher education in Kyrgyzstan through sustained and inclusive cooperation.
