On 12 December 2022, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan held a national-level Experience Exchange Meeting on Curriculum Development within Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects. The event took place at Issyk-Kul State University in Karakol and brought together 20 key stakeholders from universities, quality assurance bodies, and the Erasmus+ programme.
The main objective of the meeting was to promote the exchange of good practices, address common challenges, and identify concrete solutions in curriculum modernization aligned with the Bologna Process, digitalisation, and labour market demands. Participants included representatives of five Kyrgyz higher education institutions actively engaged in CBHE projects, as well as quality assurance experts and NEO staff.
The programme featured presentations from the DERECKA, HIEDTECH, TUTORIAL, and BERNICA project teams, focusing on the development of new academic programmes, competence-based approaches, and ECTS implementation. Sessions also addressed the integration of digital, green, and entrepreneurial skills into curricula, internal quality assurance, and interdisciplinary programme development.
Key outcomes of the event:
Exchange of successful practices and identification of barriers in curriculum reform;
Highlighted need for technical support in curriculum mapping, accreditation, and digital course design;
Recommendations for continued collaboration and follow-up capacity-building workshops;
Policy input to be submitted to the Ministry of Education to support curriculum reform efforts.
The event was positively received and underlined the importance of national coordination and cooperation among Erasmus+ CBHE project teams. It also contributed to strengthening institutional partnerships and aligning curriculum reforms with national and European higher education priorities.
