On 6 February 2026, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan (NEO) conducted a consultation meeting to support the Technopark in the process of obtaining a PIC number (Participant Identification Code) and to discuss the preparation of a project proposal under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action. The project is planned to be submitted jointly with Ala-Too International University.

During the consultation, representatives of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan provided detailed guidance on the registration procedure in the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, including the main steps for obtaining a PIC number, requirements for legal and financial documentation, and common challenges faced by organisations at the initial stage of participation in EU-funded programmes. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of the PIC number as a mandatory prerequisite for participation in Erasmus+ and other European Union funding schemes.

A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to the conceptual development of the CBHE project. The discussion focused on the planned cooperation between the Technopark and Ala-Too International University, outlining potential project objectives, expected results, and the project’s contribution to strengthening links between higher education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Participants discussed the role of the Technopark within a CBHE project, especially in terms of supporting practice-oriented learning, fostering innovation-driven education, and enhancing cooperation between academia and the private sector. Issues related to partnership structure, distribution of roles and responsibilities within the consortium, and the sustainability of project outcomes were also addressed.

The consultation also served as an open platform for addressing practical questions related to project design, consortium building, and alignment with Erasmus+ priorities and national needs in higher education and innovation development.

The meeting took place in a constructive and productive atmosphere, contributing to strengthened cooperation between the Technopark and Ala-Too University. Overall, the consultation marked an important step towards the preparation of a high-quality CBHE project proposal and further reinforced the role of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan in supporting national institutions in their participation in the Erasmus+ Programme.
