The National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme in Kyrgyzstan held an in-depth consultation meeting for representatives of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, aimed at strengthening the institution’s understanding of and engagement with Erasmus+ opportunities.
During the consultation, participants were introduced to the key components of the Erasmus+ Programme, with a particular focus on opportunities available for higher education institutions. The discussion covered the structure of the programme, its strategic priorities, and practical aspects of participation, including international mobility, cooperation projects, and institutional development.
Special attention was devoted to the Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) component. This part of the consultation highlighted CBHE as a strategic instrument for enhancing institutional capacities, supporting systemic and sustainable reforms, fostering international academic cooperation, and contributing to the overall modernisation and internationalisation of higher education. Participants discussed how CBHE projects can support curriculum development, staff capacity building, governance improvement, and stronger links between higher education institutions and society.
Within this framework, specific attention was given to the potential of medical and health-related projects under Erasmus+. Possible directions for cooperation in the fields of medical education, public health, healthcare management, digital health, and curriculum modernisation were discussed. Participants explored how CBHE and other Erasmus+ actions can support the development of innovative medical curricula, strengthen clinical training, enhance research and academic staff capacities, and promote the alignment of medical education with international standards and best practices.
The meeting also provided an open platform for dialogue, allowing representatives of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy to raise practical questions related to medical project design, partnership building with European universities, and the integration of project results into institutional development strategies.
The consultation took place in a constructive and engaging atmosphere, encouraging active exchange of ideas and experiences. Overall, the event contributed to strengthening collaboration, increasing awareness of Erasmus+ opportunities for medical higher education, and broadening international academic perspectives, paving the way for potential future participation of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy in Erasmus+ projects 🤝✨
