On 14 March 2024, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan, in partnership with the DAAD and the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team, organized a best practices exchange event focused on academic mobility initiatives under Erasmus+ (ICM) and DAAD. Held at International Ala-Too University, the event brought together over 40 participants from public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country.
The meeting aimed to foster collaboration among international offices, share operational experiences, and explore synergies between EU- and German-funded mobility programmes. Participants discussed selection processes, student and staff support mechanisms, financial and administrative management, and strategies for institutional internationalization.
The agenda featured institutional case studies, breakout sessions, and alumni reflections. Key outcomes included concrete proposals for stronger coordination, peer learning, and the formation of a national community of mobility coordinators.
The event reaffirmed the importance of aligning international mobility projects with the broader goals of higher education reform and capacity building in Kyrgyzstan.
