On 18 November 2025, National Erasmus+ office in Kyrgyzstan hosted an online seminar titled “Integration of Sustainability into the Activities of Higher Education Institutions: The AUCA Case.” The event brought together faculty, students, and sustainability practitioners to discuss innovative approaches to embedding sustainable practices in higher education.
Speakers from AUCA, including the Sustainability Program Coordinator and the Coordinator of the Green AUCA Programme, presented the University’s Sustainability Program for 2023–2025. They highlighted how the program has been implemented, shared measurable achievements, and discussed key initiatives that have made a tangible impact on campus life. Updates were also provided on the EcoPark project and AUCA’s participation in the STARS AASHE sustainability rating, showcasing the University’s commitment to international sustainability standards.
The seminar also focused on the Green AUCA program, which encourages environmentally responsible behaviors across the campus community. Initiatives range from waste reduction and energy-saving measures to student-led environmental campaigns, fostering a culture of sustainability among students and staff alike.
During the discussion, participants explored strategies for integrating sustainability into curriculum design, campus operations, and research activities. The seminar offered practical insights into how universities in Kyrgyzstan can make sustainability a core part of both daily operations and long-term institutional planning.
