It responds to growing national priorities around sustainable development and outlines how universities can become key drivers of the country\u2019s green transition.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"461\" data-end=\"833\">With 74 higher education institutions and over 220,000 students, the sector has enormous potential to advance climate action, environmental protection, and green economic growth. The roadmap proposes a holistic transformation of universities\u2014integrating sustainability into governance, campus infrastructure, curriculum, research, student engagement, and partnerships.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"835\" data-end=\"1470\"><strong>Key priorities for 2025\u20132030<\/strong> include establishing sustainability committees at all universities, conducting eco-audits, improving energy and resource efficiency, introducing interdisciplinary sustainability modules, modernizing curricula in line with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and creating research hubs focused on renewable energy, climate adaptation, and circular economy solutions. The roadmap also emphasizes empowering student eco-clubs, expanding community outreach, and fostering collaboration among ministries, local authorities, businesses, and international partners such as Erasmus+, UNESCO, and UNDP.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1838\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">By 2030, Kyrgyzstan aims to form a national network of Green Universities that reduce their ecological footprint, generate home-grown green innovations, and equip graduates with the knowledge and skills needed for a sustainable future.
