On October 28, 2025<\/strong>, an online seminar titled \u201cModels of the Green Economy in the Educational Process of the Kyrgyz Republic: Experience and Prospects\u201d<\/em> was successfully held online. The event brought together university lecturers, researchers, and students from across the country to discuss how principles of the green economy can be effectively integrated into higher education curricula in Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf99 Speaker:<\/strong>\u00a0Rector of Bishkek State University, delivered the keynote presentation. In his address, he emphasized the growing importance of environmental awareness and sustainable economic models for the future of the Kyrgyz Republic. He also highlighted the crucial role of universities in shaping students\u2019 attitudes toward responsible resource management, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.<\/p>\n

During the seminar, participants discussed various ways of incorporating sustainability into teaching and research, as well as institutional strategies for creating greener campuses. They shared examples of interdisciplinary courses, student initiatives, and collaborative projects aimed at fostering a culture of sustainability within academic settings.<\/p>\n

A significant part of the discussion focused on the achievements and lessons learned from two European Union\u2013funded projects: GreenKG<\/strong> and GDCAU<\/strong>. These projects have been instrumental in promoting environmental education and supporting universities in developing policies and curricula that align with the principles of the green economy. The projects also contribute to strengthening partnerships between Kyrgyz and European higher education institutions, facilitating knowledge exchange and capacity building.<\/p>\n

Participants noted that the integration of green economy concepts into education is not only an academic goal but also a national priority, contributing to the country\u2019s broader sustainable development objectives. They emphasized that nurturing green competencies among students will help prepare a new generation of professionals capable of addressing environmental challenges and driving sustainable innovation in various sectors.<\/p>\n

The seminar concluded with an open discussion on the prospects for expanding cooperation among universities, governmental bodies, and international partners. Participants expressed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to embed sustainability in higher education and to build a more environmentally conscious academic community in Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n
