The event took place at Kyrgyz State University named after Arabaev and brought together leading stakeholders in higher and teacher education.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"947\">The Round Table was opened by Rector Aigul Tolokovna, who welcomed participants and emphasized the strategic importance of improving teacher training in the country. This was followed by a scene-setting presentation by Gulmira Kudaiberdieva, Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, who highlighted key challenges and policy changes shaping the teacher education landscape.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"949\" data-end=\"1176\">Gulnara Isaeva of the National Erasmus+ Office presented successful Erasmus+ experiences in modernising teacher training programmes, particularly in enhancing curriculum design, practicum quality, and international cooperation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1529\">Two lively plenary sessions followed. The first, moderated by expert Rahat Bekboeva, focused on identifying major gaps in both initial and in-service teacher preparation, including issues related to curricula, digital pedagogy, and continuing professional development. University representatives shared insights and challenges from their institutions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1814\">The second plenary showcased good practices and actionable proposals to improve teacher education. Discussions centred on inclusive and digital teaching methods, strengthening university-school partnerships, and implementing competence-based assessment and quality assurance systems.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1816\" data-end=\"2068\">The day concluded with a consolidation session and adoption of an action memo summarising priority reforms, lead institutions, and implementation timelines. Participants also agreed to form a working group and reconvene in six months to track progress.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2092\"><strong data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2092\">Expected Outcomes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2316\">\n<li data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2173\">\n<p data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2173\">A short action memo outlining urgent reforms and stakeholder responsibilities;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2237\">\n<p data-start=\"2176\" data-end=\"2237\">A collaborative working group for follow-up and peer support;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2238\" data-end=\"2316\">\n<p data-start=\"2240\" data-end=\"2316\">A shared commitment to monitor reform progress and meet again in six months.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2318\" data-end=\"2513\">This event reaffirmed the shared commitment of universities and education authorities to enhance the quality and relevance of teacher education in Kyrgyzstan, supported by the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On October 13, 2022, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan, in collaboration with teacher training universities, organized a Round Table on the Problems and Prospects for the Development of Teacher Education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
