Developing Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Programmes and Strengthening Research
\nNetworks in Geoinformation Technologies in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan (GeoTAK)<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Aims and Objectives:<\/strong>
\nSupport the modernisation, accessibility and internationalisation of the higher education
\nfield in the eligible Partner Countries<\/p>\n

The specific objectives of the project are:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 To identify research and development needs of Kyrgyzstan and Armenia in the field of Geoinformation
\nTechnologies.
\n\u2022 To create a Research Node in GIT per partner country to promote and harmonise collaborative innovation
\nprojects and joint research lines.
\n\u2022 To improve and\/or update research laboratories of GIT.
\n\u2022 To train trainers from partner countries in relevant topics of GIT that have special interest for regional
\ndevelopment of innovation and environmental protection.
\n\u2022 To provide teachers and managers from HEI\u2019s in partner countries knowledge and skills in transversal topics of
\nhigher education, such as quality assurance practices, innovation and entrepreneurship, curricula development by
\ncompetences and learning outcomes, and others following Bologna process standards.
\n\u2022 To create interdisciplinary postgraduate programmes (at master and PhD levels) that enhance the potential of
\nGIT in different areas and degrees and focus research outputs on contemporary problems at regional and global
\nscales.
\n\u2022 To foster and strength the cooperation between university and industry in those topics identified as critical for the
\nsustainable development of the partner countries.
\n\u2022 To exchange and share experiences and perspectives between two countries, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, with
\nlacks and potential in technical research development and similar recent historical background, that are facing
\nsocio-economic challenges and need to stimulate new strategies in research and development.<\/p>\n

Harmonization and mutual recognition of MSc programmes in Occupational and Environmental Health (HARMONE)<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Aims and Objectives:<\/strong>
\nSupport eligible Partner Countries to address the challenges facing their higher education institutions and systems, including those of quality, relevance, equity of access, planning, delivery, management, governance;
\nSupport the modernisation, accessibility and internationalisation of the higher education field in the eligible Partner Countries<\/p>\n

Project Summary:<\/strong>
\nCountering environmental threats, endemic in Central Asia, is of key importance. Therefore, capacity building in
\nenvironmental health expertise is warranted. A teach the teacher, interdisciplinary approach is proposed. The
\nHARMONEE consortium will consist of nine Central Asian Higher Education Institutes (CA HEIs) in four different
\ncountries and two European Universities. The lack of resources and expertise in has hampered the development of
\nsystematic and appropriate MSc education in Public Health. This is essential for appropriate surveillance
\nprogrammes and advice in tackling these problems.
\nThe general aim of the project is the improvement of knowledge and practices in Public Health (involving
\nenvironmental and occupational health and One Health) in line with current needs and gaps in Central Asian
\ncountries. Based on a holistic perspective MSc education in Public Health will be developed by using a Teach the
\nTeacher approach for a sustainable output.
\nThe project specific objectives will respond to the main needs that have been identified in the Partner Countries
\nand their different institutes.
\n1. The development of new Msc modules for strengthening of disciplinary skills required in the field of Public
\nHealth, such as environmental epidemiology, toxicology, infectious diseases, exposures sciences, occupational
\nhealth, risk assessment for MSc students.
\n2. Building local capacity by training teachers in the development and running of MSc education in Public Health.
\n3. Improving the level of educational and research competences and skills in participating HEIs within Public Health related fields.
\n4. Fostering and expanding existing regional and international network regarding Public Health education.
\n5. The implementation of an interdisciplinary approach in Public Health education.<\/p>\n

Aims and Objectives:<\/strong>
\nContribute to the cooperation between the EU and the eligible Partner Countries (and amongst the eligible Partner Countries);
\nSupport the modernisation, accessibility and internationalisation of the higher education field in the eligible Partner Countries.<\/p>\n

Project Summary<\/strong>
\nThe project aims to modernise HE content for promotion of development of such national agro-food production systems, where farm-enterprises will apply internationally recognised good agricultural practices and sustainable agro-business management principles and approaches, thus increasing agro-food production industry effectiveness and competitiveness. Overall aim: To modernise agro-industry related higher education thus promoting implementation and effective management of sustainable agro-food production systems in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n
