On 22th of June 2019 the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with Erasmus Alumni Association conducted pre-departure orientation meeting for students awarded Erasmus+ programme scholarship.

The purpose of the event was to congratulate recipients of Erasmus+ JMD scholarship in 2019, to learn about their expectations and to provide them with informational support in the course of preparing to study abroad, perhaps, for one of the most fabulous journeys in one’s lifetime. Members of Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association (Former Erasmus Mundus students) shared with their experience of studying in Europe from a professional, personal and practical angle and would also present the activities of the Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association. The programme of the event was as the following:
Welcome coffee and registration 9:30 – 10.00

10.00 – Introduction to the meeting by Erasmus Mundus Alumni (EMA) in the Kyrgyz Republic – Meerim Karybaeva
10:10 – welcome speech from the EU Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic by Mr. Eduard Auer
10:20 – Presentation from National Erasmus+ Office by Gulnara Chokusheva (aims and visibility of EU funded Erasmus+ programme)
10:30 – Presentation from EMA about experience of studies in EU
11:00 – Questions and discussions from participants of PDO meeting
12.00 – Closing

The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Edward Auer, delivered a welcoming speech to the students and congratulated them on being awarded the scholarship and wished success in their studies. NEO coordinator Gulnara Chokusheva made presentations on results of EMJMD and comparative statistics.

Erasmus + graduates shared their experiences in studying and living in Europe.

According to the results of call, 17 students have won EMJMD scholarship from Kyrgyzstan, primarily the graduates of AUCA.
