The First Forum of Rectors of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation “The Development of Science and Education – Investing in the Future” took place in Bishkek on March 27-28, 2019.
The main aim of the Forum was to expand the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the field of higher education and research.
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Zheenbekov made a welcoming speech to the forum participants.
As part of the Forum, a plenary session and a session block on the following topics: “Russian as the Basis for Scientific and Educational Integration of Russia and Kyrgyzstan”, “Kyrgyz-Russian Cooperation in the Humanities and Natural Sciences”, “New Approaches to Training in the Context of Economic Modernization” was hold.
During the Forum the separate bilateral agreements between higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation were signed.
The forum is attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Mikhail Kotyukov, Minister of Education of Russia Olga Vasilyeva, heads of more than 70 Russian universities headed by President of the Russian Union of Rectors Viktor Sadovnichy.
Kyrgyzstan was represented by the Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdieva, the rectors of more than 30 universities, headed by the chairman of the association of universities Abdylda Musayev.
Ms. Svetlana Sirmbard, National Expert on Higher Education Reform in the Kyrgyz Republic, the rector of the ADAM University was a member of the organizing committee of the forum
